Born in Sweden, Gita has lived in New York, Paris, and a tiny town in central Italy, though she's spent much of her life in New England. As a girl, she rode horses and typed absurd poems on her uncle's Olivetti Lettera 22.
She attended Yale College and New York University, where she earned a PhD focusing on Victorian literature and culture. As a lecturer at Princeton, she taught classes on fairy tales and monsters.
Along with her husband, son, and Maine Coon cat, Gita divides her time between a spooky Massachusetts village and the wild coast of Maine. In each place, there are way too many books.
ENCHANTÉE is her first novel.
